Allies for Autism foundation would like to thank you for your participation and support of our September Walk and Run over the past 17 years.
Over our past fiscal year, we are please to report that we were able to provide charitable grants in the amount of $51,000 to 8 participating autism agencies from total income of $62,633.00 While we are pleased with this performance, over the last few years we have seen a slow deterioration in the funds that we have been able to raise through our walk and run event. This is likely related to the downturn in the local economy and it has been a sentiment shared by many charitable organizations throughout Calgary. While fundraising has been difficult, our foundation has always been cash-flow positive and we only provide grants with money we have on hand. Although the economy is slowly improving our executive believes that it would be prudent if we were to forgo our run this year. We realize that this may be upsetting to our many friends and supporters who look forward to the opportunity to connect and raise awareness for autism through our event. We are going to take this opportunity to do some well needed strategic planning that we hope will position our foundation for success in the future. We will keep you posted on our progress and look forward to continuing our event in 2018.
Sincerely yours,
Don Davis
